2 1/2 Hour 'Man Of Tomorrow' Re-Edits Zack Snyder's 'Man Of Steel' & 'Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice'

Job Willins is an editor who loves getting to the heart of the matter. He’s the hand behind recent re-cuts such as “Ripley” which reconfigured “Alien 3” and “Alien: Resurrection” into a single black-and-white film, and “Derelict,” which put together “Alien” and “Prometheus” into a distinct feature. Now he’s turned his attention to one of the year’s most talked about blockbusters, “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.”

Though he admits he was “less-than-enamored” with Zack Snyder‘s superhero punchup, Job uses it, along with “Man Of Steel” (of which he also “wasn’t a huge fan”) to try and create a cohesive narrative about the rise and fall of Superman in “Man Of Tomorrow.” Of course, this means jettisoning a lot of plot threads (“most of the Krypton sequence, the Smallville fight, the Africa subplot, the jar of pee…” were all cut), and re-ordering many scenes as well. Here’s what Job had to see about re-shaping the films:

Batman/Bruce Wayne is introduced in the 1st act, Superman doesn’t put on his suit until Zod appears, Lex Luthor interacts with the Kryptonian ship earlier, the dour shots of Superman’s heroism from BvS are used much more optimistically, and the flashback to Pa Kent’s death is utilized very differently, just to name a few changes to the structure.

The result? Well, you can see for yourself below, but I can only imagine it might not be up for long. Let us know what you think about “Man Of Tomorrow” in the comments section.
