2 New Clips From 'Doctor Strange' Highlight Superpowers & Romance

Yesterday, the first press screenings for “Doctor Strange” got underway, and the early reaction ahead of Sunday’s review embargo was very positive from those in attendance. It might not be the best Marvel movie to date, but the word is that Scott Derrickson has made a film distinctly his own, and unlike anything else that has been seen in the MCU. For the rest of us, that remains to be seen, but the first two clips from the movie do indicate a movie that’s definitely visually distinct.

In the first clip, Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Stephen Strange gets opened up to a world of fantastical powers by Tilda Swinton‘s Ancient One, who needs to confirm that he’s not on drugs. And in the next clip, the future superhero does some flirtatious hospital rounds with Rachel McAdams‘ Christine Palmer (who incidentally, will not become Night Nurse, as previously speculated).

Reportedly tracking to open between $50-70 million (that’s a pretty wide margin, even by the loose standards of pre-opening weekend guesstimates), “Doctor Strange” arrives on November 4th.
