'80s Set 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Will Reference A 'Star Wars' Movie

nullCameras are now rolling in Montreal on "X-Men: Apocalypse," and both official and unofficial set photos are flying around the interwebs. Some superfans are already worried that the movie, which is set in the 1980s, will be trying too hard to embrace the fashion and culture of the decade. I dunno, I don’t think it’ll be any more egregious than the ’70s costumes and whatnot from "X-Men: Day Of Future Past." But the movie will have a bit of geekery that should please eagle eyed folks watching the flick.

The Instagram happy Bryan Singer posted a photo from the set featuring a mall, with a movie theater playing "Star Wars: Episode VI — The Return Of The Jedi." Squee! So yes, that means we’re in 1983, folks. Meanwhile, the director also showed off a quick snap of Sophie Turner in full-blown stone washed jeans mode as the new Jean Grey.
