Rumor: Cillian Murphy To Play Aron Ralston In Danny Boyle's '127 Hours'?

Is Cillian Murphy taking the lead in Danny Boyle’s “127 Hours” his upcoming film about American mountain climber Aron Ralston who had to amputate his arm after it got stuck under a boulder on hiking trip through Utah in 2003?

Well, according to the U.K.’s News of the World he’s Danny Boyle’s top choice, but they have nothing to back that up and they’re essentially one of those bad U.K. tabloid.

Ryan Gosling has been reported
— by credible trade sources — as one of Boyle’s top choices, but we report this mostly because, what if? Murphy and Boyle were perfect together in “28 Days Later,” the actor’s lanky, tall frame seems to match Ralston’s, but he’s neither blond or American (not that that’s stopped anyone before).

The report is b.s. surely, but all we’re saying is that it if it came to that, Murphy certainly wouldn’t be someone we were against. He’s one of our favorite younger actors and he seems somewhat underrated these days. He should be up for ace, leading roles, but we haven’t seen him in anything major outside of a “Batman” movie of late. He does star in the “Hippie Hippie Shake” with Sienna Miller that should hit sometime next year, but we haven’t actually heard any buzz on that one yet (and whether it arrives at all remains to be seen). In summation: dude is undervalued and underused.
