Aardman Animations Goes Prehistoric In First Trailer For 'Early Man'

They might not crank ’em out like Pixar or DreamWorks, but when Aardman Animations (the studio behind “Wallace and Gromit” and “Chicken Run,” among others) makes something, it’s worth paying attention to. And “Early Man” looks like it could be a treat for fans.

Featuring the voices of Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston, Maisie Williams, Timothy Spall, and Richard Ayoade, the film will take audiences to the Bronze Age, and follow a caveman named Dug. Here’s the official synopsis:

Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, EARLY MAN tells the story of how plucky caveman Dug (voiced by Eddie Redmayne), along with sidekick Hognob, unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game.

“Early Man” will hit theaters in 2018.
