A Rocket to the Moon-On Your Side
Fueled by Ramen
October 13, 2009

A Rocket to the Moon know how to bring the pop. These songs are pop rock numbers to the nth degree, each song a potential single. They know the formula of a good pop rock song, one that will make the girls go crazy, and they use that 12 times to equal a potential stardom. The vocals are inviting and the songs are appealing; nothing all that dangerous but featuring a certain flair that will get people to listen.

The strength of this band lies in their ability to write a catchy chorus. Some of the verses aren't especially outstanding (ex: "She's Killing Me"), but the choruses more than make up for it. There's a sing along aspect that will get people going. They are also able to keep things interesting by mixing sounds up-adding some electronics here and there, using an acoustic guitar at times. These subtleties don't overpower the album, but they add a nice twist to a pretty decent debut from a band about to make a splash.
