Behemoth-Evangelion
Metal Blade
August 11, 2009
Behemoth have established themselves in the metal community with the release of consistent bone crushing albums. They blend death, speed and black metal into something that sounds perfectly natural and seem less, like they did it in their sleep on a bed of ice.
The music is so proficient, especially the jaw dropping drum work of Inferno (very fitting name), that its hard to imagine them doing anything that doesn't blow the mind. The vocals are harsh, but its the music that puts them a cut above most of their peers. They don't hold back on the speed, but its not overdone, instead being broken up with creative bridges and/or breakdowns.
Its not a surprise that Evangelion hit the charts in its first week, though it is a feat. With the ludicrous amount of bands out there today, it takes a something extra to win people over, and Behemoth have that and then some.
