NOFX-Coaster

Its hard to come up with new and insightful things to say about NOFX, as punk rock itself was only six (give or take-I always consider 1977 as its birth year, whether it is or not) years old when they started, and they have survived it all with a consistent library to boot. People can spend days arguing over their best album (Punk in Drublic will always have my heart, being the album that really opened punks' doors to me), song ("The Decline" is just mind blowing, but I love "Fleas" just as much), performance (watching the stage fall 30 seconds into their set was priceless) or television show, but at the end of the day, NOFX is a band that has stood the test of time while still being able to run another mile. Coaster is about a mile and a half.

While obviously a NOFX album, with all of the NOFX antics one would expect and/or demand, Coaster is the best start to finish album they have released in awhile. There isn't a song I don't like and the staying power of each track is extraordinary. They throw in some old school LA style punk ("We Called it America," "Suits and Ladders"), use humor and put an extra bounce in these songs to give them all a sense of importance. I have favorite tracks (too many to list) that I may listen to first at times, but I always end up listening to the entire album at least once through. This is everything one could ask for in a NOFX album, and one that will consistently be making its way back into my stereo and iPod. Enjoy.
