Its pretty safe to say that Side One Dummy has made two of the best investments during the past year. With their knack for nailing down talent with success written all over, the government may soon want to turn to their brains to get the country out of this mess.
It's Great to be Alive is certainly an ambitious album. Fake Problems hold nothing back, but don't sound pretentious in the process. Every tiny morsel they add to layer each song is done so in a way to get the listener moving, not letting even a single moment of this album feel boring. Each song has a different sort of style to it, but it all sounds like Fake Problems. It just goes to show their versitility, and Chris Farren has a captivating voice that is rough around the edges, but has rock and roll written all over it.
This is the album that Fake Problems were bound to make. Their previous releases hinted at the potential they had, and this shows everything coming into fruition. Expect to see these guys on Letterman soon as well.
