Flogging Molly-Float
Side One Dummy
March 4, 2008

I can safely say that this is my favorite Flogging Molly album to date. Every song is killer, and this album has more than its fair share of songs that would go into the "outstanding" category. I have a hard time picking a favorite song, or even a standout song, as every song is a step ahead of what I originally anticipated. To put it bluntly, this is a damn good album.

Flogging Molly don't sound any different than they have on previous albums. The songs are still traditional Irish influence punk rock songs, led by the virsatile Dave King, whose voice carries the tunes with his range and volume, not to mention the great Irish accent. He adds a lot to melodies that are already sing along ready.

To add even more strength to the band is the tight music backing up King's voice. There is a lot going on, especially with their use of accordian, fiddle and mandolin, all adding so much depth to their music. There is always something interesting to listen to at every moment of every song, making Flogging Molly one of the most well rounded punk bands ever.
