Keep Singing: A Compilation Benefiting Compassion Over Killing
Exotic Fever
2008
As I'm writing this review, I'm sitting at a bar eating a turkey club sandwich, but I don't have to be a supporter of the cause to love every song on this compilation. This is up there as one of the best comps that I have ever heard, as the energy level doesn't drop for a second. Even the lighter songs, like Gina Young's "Too Cool to Cry," which opens the album, is a catcy number that inplants itself in the listener's head, and things just accelerate from there. Strike Anywhere deliver one hell of a song in "You are Not Collateral Damage," and the screamo bands, like Sinaloa, Ampere, Life at These Speeds and Off Minor are top notch. The lighter bands do a great job of offering a change of pace while keeping up the intensity. This is a great end product, one with a booklet that features some vegan recipes for those interested.
