It must be nice owning your own record label and being able to release songs from so many years ago with your cover band. It is nice be a fan of said label and band and getting to hear these songs released on one CD after all these years. I've heard a few of these songs here and there, but I'm glad I have it all on one disc.
There were a few songs that I didn't really know ("Rich Girl," "Sodomy," "Mother and Child Reunion"), but they are still enjoyable (I didn't know "One Tin Soldier" from Have a Ball, and that turned out to be one of my favorite songs). Obviously, the well known songs are the instant classics, and Me First put "Country Roads," one of my all time favorite songs, "Only the Good Die Young," "You've Got a Friend," and "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" on this album, making for some fun sing alonging in the old car.
The songs themselves aren't as tight as the band are now, sounding basically they had a few beers and hard liquor before the engineer pressed play, but it all sounds good in the end. I always eagerly await new songs from this band, and they haven't disappointed me yet. Now I just have to see what genre they cover next.
