New Found Glory-Tip of the Iceberg
International Superheroes of Hardcore-Takin' It Ova!
Bridge 9
April 29, 2008

There's not much to say about this album that hasn't already been said. New Found Glory don't sound a whole lot different from all of their other releases. The songs may be slightly more straight punk than pop punk, and they show their influences by covering Gorilla Biscuits ("No Reason Why"), Lifetime ("Cut the Tension) and a great version of Shelter's "Here We Go Again." The huge fanbase of New Found Glory fans (whether or not they're as big as they once were is doubtful) will enjoy this release, and they may get some new people to check out the bands they cover.

The second CD, featuring International Superheroes of Hardcore, features silly lyrics, basically letting people know that they do know the roots of hardcore and punk, and awesome songs. I wish the lyrics weren't done in such a joking way, because the music is full of fast hardcore punk songs, which sound great. Its obvious that the band is joking around, but I'd love to see them take this serious, as they have a talent for writing this kind of music as well.
