Sleep Station-The Pride of Chester James

Leaning towards the lighter side of indie rock, Sleep Station have come forth with an album full of various layers of emotion, volume and styles. They delve into some country parts here and there, but not enough to consider Sleep Station a full on alt country band, though they're not too far off (I could picture them playing a show with a band like Lucero). They sometimes have happy and/or hopeful sounding parts, though they often keep things on the sadder side of things. The music is mostly acoustic, but Sleep Station make good use of dynamics and volumes, using creshendos aptly when needed.
I enjoy this album. Its a relatively simple listening experience that has a lot of great moments to offer the listener. Sleep Station have quietly released a cross genre album that doesn't overdo it. They are a great blend of indie rock and alt country, and The Pride of Chester James is a calming listening experience.
