The Briggs-Come All You Madmen
Side One Dummy
June 17, 2008

The Briggs don't hide the fact that they play straight up melodic street punk that sounds very similar to Street Dogs, Dropkick Murphys, The Business, Cock Sparrar and the Swingin Utters. They wear their influences, emblemed all over their collective bodies similar to a NASCAR driver, and they do the genre more than justice. In fact, Come All You Madmen puts The Briggs near the top of the list.

These songs are all instantly catchy and memorable, made to be sung along to in a live setting. The vocals of the Larocca brothers play off of each other really well, sometimes sounding British, and always sounding strong. The music is tight, while not completely technical, exactly as a street punk band should be.

While not tough enough to be straight up Oi, The Briggs are a band that will bridge the gap for people that think Dropkicks are too commercial and Last Resort is a little too mean. These songs all have that instant classic feel, making Come All You Madmen a blast to listen to.
