Volcom is not a label that I would have ever thought to put out rock and roll records, but that seems to be their niche, and Totimoshi (along with Valient Thorr) are at the top of the heap. They belt out post grunge slimy rock tunes that bring clear visions of a dirty biker dive bar, with a fight breaking out every 15 minutes as if on cue.
They have a nice mixture of dynamics, though the heavy always wins out in the end. Their softer parts bring about a sense of misery that is brought to the forefront when the heavier, aggressive parts take over. It helps that Totimoshi are equipt with three talented musicians, as they all contribute great moments. The bass lays down the groove, the guitar provides the lead and extra melody while the drums pound everything home.
This is a strong performance from Totimoshi. They are a great mix of soft and loud, musicianship and noisy, and Milagrosa is a fun album to listen to.
