Any 'Che' Now...

We’re un poquito ‘Che’ obsessed, and there’s not too much to report, but a few stories out there today reiterating that the sale of the two-part, four-hour Steven Soderbergh epic is immimenent (proximamente as the trailer said) Which would be nice for bloggers and journalists who probably won’t get a crack at a proper press screening during the upcoming Toronto Int. Film Festival (One could say it’s a democraztized screening which is antithetical or one could call it a screening for all the people which is more in keeping with the view).

Anne Thompson continues to say it’s Magnolia that has bought the film. ScreenDaily reiterates what most of us assume, the film will be split in two parts, but a few cities (New York and L.A. at least) will probably get a few weeks of the entire 4-hour film in one sitting. If it does come via Magnolia, we assume most people will watch it OnDemand.

A separate Variety story says production and distribution entity, Wild Bunch are in “advanced negotiations with three Stateside companies for North American rights. None of the major studios are believed to be among the bidders, however.” Not a big shocker there.
