2007 proved that, while I may not be the best at predicting standings, I can predict a World Series winner. For the first time since I've done these predictions, 2008 doesn't have a whole lot of drama to offer. There is the looming steroid scandal, which I'm sure will get worse before it gets better, but people are starting to get sick of that. Our culture, unfortunately, leads us to get decensatized pretty quickly, which, added to our fast food instant lifestyle, leads us to get bored with things even quicker. I would love to see the Cubs win their first World Series in 100 years, but I don't see that happening.
Here are my Season Standings Predictions:
American League East1. Boston Red Sox* |
National League East1. New York Mets* |
American League Central1. Detroit Tigers* |
National League Central1. Milwaukee Brewers* |
American League West1. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim* |
National League West1. Colorado Rockies* |
*=Division Winner
**=Wild Card
League Divisional Series
Red Sox vs. Indians
Angels vs. Tigers
Dodgers vs. Mets
Rockies vs. Brewers
League Championship Series
Red Sox vs. Tigers
Rockies vs. Mets
World Series
Tigers vs. Mets
Champions
New York Mets
I still don't recognize the Houston Astros as a team. The have been officially off my radar for many years.
Don't forget to read these predictions again in October to see how I did.
