Quarter Two Review (April-June)
2007

Three more months gone by and forgotten like an unimportant birthday. The past three months haven't been all that exciting at all, and though the releases have been plentiful, very few have really stuck out at me, causing me to fall in love with them. There have been some very strong releases, and others that just kind of passed by. Some caused excitement at first before dying off, while others are still getting a lot of play.

TOP 5 OF QUARTER 2:

Fake Problems-How Far Our Bodies Go (Sabot): This young band has already built up a lot of hype with their punk/country styled anthems. I see this band and I still don't think they've lived up to their full potential, meaning that these guys are on the uphill climb, and they're already writing killer music.

Gaslight Anthem-Sink or Swim (XOXO): This album can either have you sad and stewing over everything or happy as all hell, sometimes both at once.

Silver Daggers-New High & Ord (Load): This is about as far out of the box as an album can be. Silver Daggers may not appeal to everyone, but this is a damn enjoyable and eccentric album.

Strung Out-Blackhawks Over Los Angeles (Fat): This is a return to form. They found the right mixture between the melody that made them so popular in the first place, and the metal tinges that they have gravitating towards with the past few albums.

Two Cow Garage-Three (Shelterhouse): I'm definitely glad that it took me so long to write up this list. If I had written in early July when I should have (instead of late August), Two Cow Garage would have missed out on the list, and that would have been a shame, as I've been listening to this album full of anthems more than any other album lately.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Tim Armstrong-A Poet's Life; Daymares-Can't Get Us All ; Limbeck; Chuck Ragan-Los Feliz;
Silverstein-Arrivals and Departures; Tiger Army-Music From Regions Beyond; Rocky Votolato-The Brag & Cuss;
