Marvel Explains Why You Don't See Avengers Tower On Netflix Shows

Marvel‘s Netflix shows sure like to tease that they take place in the same universe as the movies, but there’s rarely any hard connections made. Kevin Feige has previously explained that the timing between the movies and TV series makes keeping the juggling the narrative balls tricky, but you’d think some greater effort would be made. Hell, even the giant Avengers Tower hasn’t been glimpsed on Netflix yet, and there’s a very weak reason why.

Marvel TV exec Jeph Loeb recently weighed in on the matter, and it would appear that through a couple seasons of “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Iron Fist,” “Luke Cage,” “The Defenders,” and probably the upcoming “The Punisher,” there was no single character who is standing in the right place to view the tower from their angle. Seriously.

“In many ways, being less specific helps the audience understand that this could be on any street corner. Where we’re sitting right now, I can see the Empire State Building, but if we were sitting 30 blocks that way, I wouldn’t be able to see the Empire State Building. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. It just means that we can’t see it from where we are,” Loeb told The Inverse.

Once your eyes have returned to their natural position after rolling back in your head, yes, I guess that makes sense. Generally, in whatever city you’re in, it’s not always possible to see the landmarks wherever you are. But you’d think at some point maybe someone might walk by? See it between buildings? Maybe in the far, far, far distance?

Anyway, that’s about as much thought as I’m willing to give the issue right now. [via io9]
