‘Bloodshot’ Trailer: Vin Diesel Becomes A Superhuman Killer In Sony’s & Valiant Comics First Superhero Feature

You hear Vin Diesel (“Fast & Furious” series) and the words “killing machine,” you don’t bat an eyelid. Diesel and the action genre go hand in hand really, well here he goes again in another similar role as he plays Valiant Comics own “Bloodshot” in there feature film debut.

The project is being directed by Dave Wilson, and will serve as his first feature film as a director. Wilson has been apart of many projects, such as a creative supervisor during “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” and has directed many cinematic trailers for video games, including EA’s Mass Effect 2” and Ubisoft’s The Division.” He will find doing a feature-length film to be a different kettle of fish compared to a two to a three-minute game trailer.

We know of Diesel’s past when it comes to superhero films, he stars in Marvel’s own “Guardians Of The Galaxy” as Groot (all variations of the tree that can say only three words) and is part of Disney and Marvel’s huge superhero Cinematic Universe (the MCU). It looks like he is about to be a part of another, if Sony can get their way.

It seems Sony is trying to start up their own superhero cinematic universe, when back in 2015 they signed a five-picture deal with Valiant to bring their superheroes to the big screen, they wanted to create the VCU. They had been hoping to have a shared universe with “Bloodshot” being a part of the same universe as the “Harbinger” characters, however, they have recently lost that IP to Paramount Pictures. There was also talk of having a film based on plus-sized female hero Faith Herbert which Sony had in production, although considering she is a main part of the Harbingers, it looks unlikely she will get a film with Sony.

It would be a shame to not have something that properly rivals the MCU and the DC universe but it seems Sony are putting all their efforts into “Spider-Man,” “Jumanji” and “Ghostbusters.” Perhaps the VCU may one day become fruition and a deal between Paramount and Sony may allow for one to happen.

“Bloodshot” will co-star Sam Heughan (“Outlander”), Eiza González (“Baby Driver”), Toby Kebbell (“Fantastic Four”) and Guy Pearce (“Memento”).
