Boyd Holbrook & Shaunette Renée Wilson Are Joining The ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Cast

The road to production on “Indiana Jones 5” has been rife with potholes. It seems that at every turn, a new script is being written, the film is delayed further, and a new director is brought in to helm the feature. All told, we’ve been talking about this film, seriously at least, for more than three years. But with two more people joining the cast, it looks like James Mangold is actually going to get started on production for “Indiana Jones 5” soon enough.

According to Deadline, actors Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson are the latest folks to join the growing cast of “Indiana Jones 5.” Naturally, they’re set to star opposite Harrison Ford in the upcoming sequel. They’re also joining previously announced additions to the cast, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and b Mikkelsen. Of course, considering this is a Lucasfilm production under the umbrella of Disney, plot details are non-existent. All we know is that these people will be doing something that involved Indiana Jones and likely some sort of MacGuffin that could greatly impact the world. That’s a safe bet, right?

Holbrook is probably best known for his role as the villain in “Logan” (written and directed by Mangold). However, he’s also had some strong performances in projects such as “In the Shadow of the Moon” and the Netflix series, “Narcos.” He’s also set to star in “Beckett,” a new film from director Ferdinando Cito Filomarino that stars John David Washington and Alicia Vikander.

As for Wilson, she’s probably best known for her TV work, appearing in series such as “Billions” and the Fox drama series, “The Resident.” She also had a small role as one of the Dora Milaje in Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther.”

For now, barring any more delays, fans will actually get to see “Indiana Jones 5” in theaters on July 29, 2022.
