Cast Of 'Love Actually' Reuniting For Followup Next Month

Each year around Christmas, the thinkpiece industry goes into overdrive, with numerous pieces about popular rom-com “Love Actually” and how much it actually sucks. And yet, despite a very concerted effort by many to point out what’s “wrong” with the movie, or point out its overrated, it remains a favorite for many, and fans have a big surprise coming next month.

The entire cast — Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Liam Neeson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Olivia Olson, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke, and Rowan Atkinson — are getting together for a 10-minute sketch that will air as part of this spring’s “Red Nose Day.” And writer/director Richard Curtis is back as well, with the segment updating everyone on where the characters find themselves fourteen years later.

“It seemed like a fun idea this year to do a special sketch based one of my films, since Red Nose Day is now in both the UK and America. I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to ‘Love Actually,’ but I thought it might be fun to do 10 minutes to see what everyone is now up to,” he said via Yahoo UK.

The “Red Nose Day” special airs on March 24th in the U.K. and May 25th in the U.S., though I’d guess that “Love Actually” thing is going spread very quickly online.
