At 64 years old, dude can still fill arenas and deliver anthemic, spirit raising, life changing concerts with more energy and heart than anybody half his age. And while he’s got all kinds of hardware to back up his accomplishments — twenty Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Oscar — his authenticity is his currency. You know going into anything Bruce is involved in, that he won’t be half-assing it and using his name to prop it up. Dude gives as good as he gets. And so, this bit of news is intriguing.

The Boss has stepped behind the camera for the first time, co-directing the short film "Hunter Of Invisible Game." Probably not so coincidentally also the name of a song off his most recent album High Hopes, and while plot details aren’t yet known, perhaps the lyrics may help in figuring that out. But Springsteen isn’t working alone, with longtime collaborator Thom Zimny ("Wings for Wheels: The Making of ‘Born to Run," "The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town," "Bruce Springsteen: A Conversation with His Fans" plus editor of countless more) co-directing the venture.

"Hunter Of Invisible Game" will debut on July 9th at noon on the interwebs. Check out the song and poster below. [Consequence Of Sound]
