Cillian Murphy Reteams With Christopher Nolan For 'Dunkirk'

InceptionChristopher Nolan has a list of regulars he uses on each film, but after making four straight pictures together — "The Dark Knight" trilogy and "Inception" — Cillian Murphy was not invited to the party for "Interstellar." But he’s back on the roster for Nolan’s next effort, which features a rather eclectic cast.

Murphy is joining newcomer Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Aneurin Barnard, One Direction singer Harry Styles, Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh in "Dunkirk." The film is inspired by Operation Dynamo, the near-miraculous evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) and other Allied troops from the French seaport of Dunkirk, which took place from May-June of 1940. Hoyte van Hoytema ("Interstellar") is lensing the picture, with Hans Zimmer providing the score.

Murphy will join Hardy, Rylance and Branagh in a supporting role, with the younger actors taking the lead. No word yet on a part for Michael Caine, but surely there is one, right?

"Dunkirk" opens on July 21, 2017. [The Wrap]
