'City Of Lies' Trailer: Johnny Depp Investigates The Murders Of Tupac And The Notorious B.I.G.

All those hip-hops fans hoping to find out the truth behind the infamous murders of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., have no fear! Johnny Depp is on the case!

That’s right, in the new trailer for the upcoming crime-thriller “City of Lies,” we follow Johnny Depp’s character Russell Poole, a retired LAPD detective, as he investigates the murders of two of music’s most legendary rappers. Joining him on the case is none other than Forest Whitaker as Jackson, a journalist who teams up with Poole two decades later to find the truth. The film is based on the true story of the real-life collaboration between Russell Poole and Randall Sullivan.

“City of Lies” is directed by Brad Furman, who is probably best known for his films “The Lincoln Lawyer,” “Runner Runner,” and “The Infiltrator.” The film is written by Christian Contreras, based on the non-fiction book “LAbyrinth” by Randall Sullivan. “City of Lies” stars Depp and Whitaker, as well as Rockmond Dunbar, Neil Brown Jr., Xander Berkeley, and Wynn Everett.

“City of Lies” will see its release on September 7.
