'The Commuter' Trailer: Liam Neeson Needs His Special Skills Once Again

Liam Neeson, cinematically speaking, is just trying to live his life when, lately, things have been getting very real. Three “Taken” movies, that one where he was supposed to fight wolves but mostly didn’t, that other one where he ran all night, that time he stopped airplane trouble, and that other time Common was an assassin — dude can’t be chill for five minutes without something going wrong. And here we go again.

The Commuter” sees Neeson as an ordinary family man, just trying to get home from work, when once again, he’ll need to lean on his special set of skills. And you can bet, those that get in his way are going to have some regrets. Here’s the official synopsis:

In this action-packed thriller, Liam Neeson plays an insurance salesman, Michael, on his daily commute home, which quickly becomes anything but routine. After being contacted by a mysterious stranger, Michael is forced to uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on his train before the last stop. As he works against the clock to solve the puzzle, he realizes a deadly plan is unfolding and is unwittingly caught up in a criminal conspiracy. One that carries life and death stakes, for himself and his fellow passengers.

“The Commuter” opens on January 12, 2018.
