Connect With Natalie Portman's 'Jackie' In New Trailer For Pablo Larrain's Oscar Contender

As it usually goes during the awards season, each week sees a shift in the favorites to win, while others lose momentum, but so far, Pablo Larrain‘s “Jackie” is holding strong. Powered by a strong lead performance by Natalie Portman that is already earning Best Actress buzz, Fox Searchlight has unveiled another new trailer for the film that takes a powerful look at one of the most famous women to ever hold the title of First Lady.

Co-starring Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup, John Hurt, and Peter Sarsgaard, and produced by Darren Aronofsky, the film focuses on Jackie Kennedy‘s harrowing days following the death of her husband, and the transition of power in Washington. Here’s the official synopsis:

JACKIE is a searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman).  JACKIE places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband’s assassination.  Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy and the world of “Camelot” that they created and loved so well.
