Led by an absolutely terrific performance by John Lithgow, the film follows respected psychologist, loving husband and devoted father Carter Nix who decides to take a year off to help raise his daughter. All seems to go well until Carter shows obsessive behavior toward their daughter, shows signs of multiple personalities, and launches a fiendish plot to recreate the infamous experiments of his deranged father.
