David Ayer Apologizes For Saying "F*** Marvel" At 'Suicide Squad' Premiere

Later today, the first wave of “Suicide Squad” reviews will arrive, followed by the movie opening on Friday, so it’s understandable if the people behind the picture are perhaps a bit on edge. It probably doesn’t need to be repeated, but Warner Bros. really needs this movie to work and it’s probably fair to say that director David Ayer is feeling the pressure just a little bit. So it’s perhaps understandable he blew off a little steam last night at the World Premiere screening of the superhero movie.

Apparently, after hearing someone in the audience yell “Fuck Marvel!,” Ayer repeated the phrase, thus surely stoking fanboy fights on the sadder corners of the internet. But the director quickly took to Twitter to apologize, saying he was caught up in the moment. And really, who can blame him?

Check out the moment below, and the subsequent apology. And we’re sure this is just the start of some intense conversations around the movie as it gets set to arrive in just a few days.
