David Lynch Joins Ensemble Cast Of Indie 'Lucky'

You’d think with his responsibilities putting together the highly anticipated new season of “Twin Peaks,” David Lynch‘s schedule would be full up. But I guess not, because the filmmaker is taking an acting gig in the upcoming indie “Lucky.”

Marking the directorial debut of character actor John Carroll Lynch (way too many credits to name here, but you may know him as the prime suspect in David Fincher‘s “Zodiac“), led by Harry Dean Stanton, and featuring Ed Begley Jr., Ron Livingston, and Tom Skerritt, the movie will follow the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old atheist and the quirky characters that inhabit his off-the-map desert town. Having out-lived and out-smoked all his contemporaries, the fiercely independent Lucky finds himself at the precipice of life, thrust into a journey of self-exploration, leading toward that which is so often unattainable: enlightenment.

The project was written by Logan Sparks and Drago Sumonja specifically for Stanton, and I’d wager Lynch is doing a favor for his old pal and frequent collaborator. Production is now underway.
