David Slade To Direct Wilderness Thriller 'Villain' Penned By 'Robocop' Writer Josh Zetumer

nullWell, with that "Daredevil" movie he signed up to direct last year still in need of a finished script (Marvel recently hired David James Kelly to take a crack at it), David Slade is going to go off and make something in the meantime, and it sounds like something a little more "Hard Candy" and less "30 Days Of Night."

Slade will take the reins of the (terribly named) "Villain," a thriller set in the wildnerness. Penned by rising writer Josh Zetumer ("Robocop," he also penned an unused draft for 'Bourne 4' and sold a spy franchise to Universal), there are not many plot details but the story will center on two brothers who come across a pack of wild wolves and have to fight for survival who confront their dark past in the wilderness. And that's about all there is to it at the moment, but it does seem to be moving quickly. Production is slated to take place in Alaska with casting for the two leads now underway.

All told, it's a nice manuever for Slade away from the supernatural of both '30 Days' and "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." At least we hope so. Looks like this one is gonna roll soon, and we're curious to see who will be squaring off in the pic.
