Drew Barrymore & Timothy Olyphant Eat People In Bloody Full Red-Band Trailer For Netflix Series 'Santa Clarita Diet'

Netflix got off to a pretty good start to 2017, a year that will see them debut an unprecedented number of original series for a streaming service, with the debut on Friday of “A Series Of Unfortunate Events.” But they’re just getting warmed up, and they just debuted a trailer for one of their big hopes for the coming months, “Santa Clarita Diet.”

The dark comedy from Victor Fresco (who was behind the cult favorite “Better Off Dead”) has turned heads as the first show in the peak TV era to star Drew Barrymore, who headlines alongside “Justified” actor Timothy Olyphant. The pair play a married couple of real estate agents whose happy life is turned upside down when Barrymore’s character dies and becomes a flesh-eating zombie.

It’s an unusual premise for a show, but one that could be winning in the right hands, and Barrymore and Olyphant look to be just the right couple to headline something like this. It looks like you’ll need some strong stomachs, though, with lashings of gore (and the occasional F-bomb) throughout.

Liv Hewson, Ricardo Chavira, Skyler Gisondo, Richard T. Jones, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nathan Fillion and Patton Oswalt also star, and Netflix will debut the show on February 3rd. Watch the trailer and see the poster below.
