There are a few bands out there that I consider to have incredibly sincere music. Jonah Matranga, who has been in a good amount of bands, leads the pack, as he had this uncanny ability to make every word released from his mouth and every move his body makes come out so honest, heartfelt and sincere. This CD/DVD (more the DVD part since you can actually see whats going on) is an audio/visual testament to a man who takes giving back and being honest to his fans to another level.
I'm not a fan of all of his material, but its hard to watch this and not become inspired by the way he treats his fans, the emotion he puts into his craft and his positive outlook on life. He plays for kids in a living room (which is also used in The Volunteers - A Movie of Sorts portion-which is eleven videos made with the help of Darren Doane), answers questions from fans and play an acoustic song outside of the Chain Reaction, and even stops in the middle of "Lukewarm," (my favorite song he has written) and played a part over because he noticed that the crowd watned to sing a part with him.
The CD portion features six track each from the living room show and Chain Reaction show. The sound quality isn't amazing, but it gets the job done and makes for a good listen in the car.
Whether or not you're a fan of Matranga's music, its hard not to respect this man. This release will easily appeal to fans of him, especially since it is chock full of material, but I encourage others to at least check this out, if for nothing else than to see a genuine and caring person who is as sincere as they come.
