Reality shows are, for the most part, stupid and fake, with conflict and scenerios put together by the producers and/or editors of the show to keep people glued to their television, even though its as fake as an LA cougar. Fat Mike is smart enough to look past that bullshit and create a reality show that doesn't need a team of writers for conflict and scenerios. They got a camera crew and went out "on a sketchy tour...no country is too obscure." A world tour that spreads three continents (North America and Europe are too easy and Antarctica is too impossible) some outlandish countries (pretty much every country they play except for Japan presents their own challenges), and a band that doesn't give a shit that cameras are rolling and just does their thing.

The thing I like most about this DVD/series (besides the theme song) is the sincerity involved. The guys don't put on a show for the cameras. They don't try and paint themselves as anything they're not. There are so many honest moments by each member of the band and crew, whether it be drunkenness, confessions or fear; and you know that everything is coming from the heart.

While the guys themselves make for great television situations, the scenerios with venues and shows are enough to keep viewers, especially ones interested in the music business looking for an inside peek, on the edge of their seat. I don't like giving things away, but there are some great moments watching them deal with venues, promoters or managers, mostly involving them getting screwed in the end. Back to the sincerity of the band, they don't seem to mind because a) they want the kids to have a good time, and b) they planned on a lot of this happening.

With two hours of extras that take the viewer deeper inside of each episode, there is such a wealth of information on this DVD. Its entertaining, educational and a flat out damn good time. Plus, the theme song is one of the best NOFX songs that I've heard in a long time; right up there with "The Decline" and "Fleas" as my favorites. There's nothing not to like about this DVD.
