The Good Wife” is one of those cable shows that I heard was good, but somehow seven seasons passed by, I never watched it, and the series said farewell last spring. But for fans of the show, something new is on the horizon with the spinoff “The Good Fight,” and the new trailer promises a legal procedural with a twist.

Christine Baranski reprises her role as Diane Lockhart, who finds her life turned upside down when she’s the victim of a Ponzi scheme, and has to fight to put her life back together. Here’s the synopsis:

The Good Fight picks up one year after the events of the final broadcast episode of The Good Wife. In the new series, an enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia Rindell, while simultaneously wiping out her mentor and godmother Diane Lockhart’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.
