Exclusive: Family Is Fractured In Clip From Joachim Trier's 'Louder Then Bombs'

If you’re a regular around these parts, then you already know that Joachim Trier is one of our faves. The director became one to watch with “Reprise,” and established he had more in his arsenal with “Oslo, August 31st.” And we couldn’t have been more excited when he made his English-language debut with “Louder Than Bombs.” And while the reception didn’t get the noise we had hoped, the good news is that the film is now available to watch at home, and we hope this exclusive clip spurs you to give it a spin.

Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Devin Druid, Gabriel Bryne, and Isabelle Huppert, the film takes place two years after the death of famed photographer Isabelle Reed (Huppert), with her husband and sons still coming to terms with their grief. Gene (Byrne) struggles as a single parent; Jonah (Eisenberg), the elder son, is now a father himself; while the youngest son, Conrad (Druid), resists any opportunity her father makes to connect. But a retrospective of Isabelle’s work will bring them all together to face the memories and secrets they have. But as you’ll see in this scene, there are some major hurdles to overcome.

“Louder Than Bombs” is now available on iTunes and Digital Platforms.
