Step Brothers
Directed by: Adam McKay
Screenplay by: Will Farrell, Adam McKay, John C. Reilly

Putting Will Farrell and John C. Reilly in a movie together is an equation for pure comedic gold. Add the deranged and overly perverted mind of the writers, and you're in for quite a treat. There is nothing about the plot that hasn't been done millions of times in comedies before, but its still a knee slapping laugh a minute riot.

This is a version of the odd couple, with a slight twist being that the characters are pretty much the same person. When their parents (neither of whom look old enough to have kids either pushing or at 40) marry, a sort of Brady Bunch goes down, except the two hate each other because their routine has been twisted. It doesn't take a genious to figure out what happens next, but the laughs are kept up throughout the film.

Farrell and Reilly play their respective characters great. You can sense the tension between the two of them, as well as the solidarity when it comes up. They both act like children who don't know what it means to grow up (until the end, obviously). Even when they do, its with a childish charm.

This is a film meant to be nothing more than an hour and a half escape from reality, featuring plenty of laughs and characters that you will instantly fall for.
