The Island

Hmmm...a part apocalyptic world that is 15 years away and not actually an apocolypse. People who wear all white, exercise rigorously and work jobs that they don't understand, all with the dream of going to an island to help repopulate the Earth. One mistake was able to open up a shitstorm of worms.

Lincoln Six Echo (Ewan McGregor) finds out that his whole existance is a fraud, basically kidnaps Jordan Two Delta (Scarlett Johansson), who just won the "lottery" to go to teh island, and they set forth to make it known that they are clones who have thoughts and feelings just like the people they were cloned from. McCord (Steve Buscemi) gets them started, but it is up to their (unusually strong for clones) instincts to survive.

While very predictable, this is still a pretty good idea, though director Michael Bay turned it into a mindless action flick instaed of going in a more intelligent and thought provoking direction. Bay did a good job with the chase scenes and destruction, but he could have done so much more story wise, which is part of the reason why this flim flopped at the box office.
