This seems like a good plan for young, horny, promiscuous guys: crash wedding, eat the food and use your outgoing personality to get more girls than a gynocologist. That is the set up for this David Dobkin directed comedy, but its more about when this rouse comes to bite them in the ass.
John Beckwith (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy Grey (Vince Vaughn) are successful wedding crashers in D.C. They decide to crash the wedding of Treasury Secretary William Cleary's (Christopher Walken) daughter. You'd think that it wouldn't be a smart idea to try and pull one over on a man in power, but these two think with the other head, which ends up working for Grey, but with "first time" ramifications that make him want to get out fo there quick. Beckwith meets Clair Cleary (Rachel McAdams), a girl that he is actually interested in, but finds out that she has a boyfriend (Bradley Cooper). He takes advantage of an opportunity to spend the weekend at the Cleary compound, which eventually (but not surprisingly) backfires.
The actors all do a really good job with their rols. Wilson and Vaughn seem like shallow guys only out for one thing, but they care about each other's well being. Their acting is very loose and lets the viewer kick back and have a good time. I was a little surprised that Walken wasn't creepier than he was. He seemed pretty down to earth, and I was expecting his character to be really out there.
This is a pretty predictable movie with jokes that were able to sound fresh. There were a few corny and unbelievable parts, but the rest of the film made up for that. See this if you're a fan of "Meet the Parents."
