First Official Footage Of The New 'Twin Peaks' Arrives In Character-Focused Teaser

Quite frankly, it would be strange if the marketing for “Twin Peaks” had been anything but enigmatic. The show, which first aired in 1990, was a beautifully enigmatic piece of work from David Lynch, one of our most enigmatic filmmakers, so it’s appropriate that the revival of the show on Showtime has been shrouded in secrecy for the most part.

But with the first new episodes a little over two weeks away, things are likely to change in the coming days, and after a teaser video showed us the locations of the show last week, the first faces of returning cast members have been revealed in another Showtime promo.

In a brief, still-cryptic 30-second spot, We get to see how Carl Rodd (Harry Dean Stanton), Big Ed Hurley (Everett McGill), Sarah Palmer (Grace Zabriskie), Deputy Andy Brennan (Harry Goaz), Deputy Tommy ‘Hawk’ Hill (Michael Horse) and, of course, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) appear over 25 years since we last saw them.

There’ll be plenty more faces to come — David Duchovny, Sherilyn Fenn, the late Miguel Ferrer, Lynch himself and Ray Wise are among the cast members confirmed to return, while Monica Bellucci, Jim Belushi, Michael Cera, Laura Dern, Sky Ferreira, Robert Forster, Brett Gelman, Ashley Judd, David Koechner, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Trent Reznor, Tim Roth, Naomi Watts and Amanda Seyfried are among the newcomers. We’re sure we’ll get another look in the meantime, but for now, watch the new clip below, and come back in a couple of weeks for our verdict once it premieres at Cannes.
