First Look: Warren Beatty's Howard Hughes Film 'Rules Don’t Apply' Starring Alden Ehrenreich & Lily Collins

It looks like Warren Beatty has taken a page from the book of Terrence Malick. We’ve been waiting patiently for his Howard Hughes movie, which marks his first appearance in front of the camera in 15 years and first directorial project in 18 years. And just like that, the first images from the movie have landed, along with an official title.

Rules Don’t Apply” stars Lily Collins and Alden Ehrenreich, an actress and her driver, who both work for the eccentric billionaire, who demands that no romance blooms between his employees. But course, it does.

“I never lost my curiosity about him,” Beatty told EW about his long-developing passion project. “It’s just that I don’t run around doing movies all the time.”

However, he stresses it’s not a standard biopic, and even has some moments of comedy. Oscar contender? We’ll see, but the newly minted November 11th release date bodes well.
