First Trailer For 'The Lego Ninjago Movie' Brings Plastic Ninja Warriors To Life

Brick by brick, Warner Bros. is building a new franchise (see what I did there? sorry, not apologizing for it). First, came the mega-smash “The Lego Movie,” and coming this weekend is the inevitable box office winner “The Lego Batman Movie.” And keeping the things going this fall will be “The Lego Ninjago Movie” which brings the brand to life in another unique way.

Jackie Chan, Justin Theroux, Dave Franco, Olivia Munn, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peńa and Zach Woods bring there voices for this marital arts flavored take, which is keeping the offbeat humor we’ve come to expect intact. Here’s the official synopsis:

In this big-screen NINJAGO adventure, the battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad.  Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu.

“The Lego Ninjago Movie” opens on September 22nd.
