First Trailer For TV Series ‘Snatch’ Will Bring You Back To The Good Old Days Of Guy Ritchie

At one time, Guy Ritchie’s brand had him leading the post-”Pulp Fiction” wave of directors following in the wake of Quentin Tarantino, with his own distinctly British crime pictures that mixed action and comedy with equal verve. Now he’s just a guy stuck in the blockbuster rut making stuff like “Sherlock Holmes” or this summer’s “King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword.” Yawn. But if you’re missing the Ritchie of yore, perhaps it’s time to tune into Crackle.

The streaming service is bringing “Snatch” to the small screen, based on Ritchie’s 2000 movie, though it also lifts elements from “Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels” as well. The cast is eclectic, and that Ritchie flavor seems to be there too, though your mileage may vary on everything a bit. Here’s the official synopsis:

Inspired by a real life heist in London, “Snatch,” centers on a group of twenty-something, up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.

Starring Rupert Grint, Luke Pasqualino, Lucien Laviscount, Dougray Scott, Phoebe Dynevor, Juliet Aubrey and Ed Westwick, “Snatch” launches on March 16th.
