'Flatliners' Trailer: It's A Good Day To Die

I’m no scientist, but it seems to me that if you experiment with the line between life and death, there’s going to be some repercussions. Well, some attractive, rebellious science types learn that the hard way in “Flatliners.”

The remake of the 1990 horror movie that everyone is suddenly nostalgic for, brings together Ellen Page, Diego LunaNina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons for the chilling tale of paranormal freakiness. There’s a small glimmer of hope that this is smarter than it looks with Ben Ripley (“Source Code”) writing the script, and perhaps Niels Arden Oplev (“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”) can bring some flair to the proceedings. Here’s the official synopsis:

In Flatliners, five medical students, obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. But as their experiments become increasingly dangerous, they are each haunted by the sins of their pasts, brought on by the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.

“Flatliners” opens on September 29th.
