Free: Watch The First 8 Minutes Of 'The Hurt Locker'

Update: was posted online and then quickly pulled down. Hulu has it now officially.

Kathryn Bigelow’s heart stopping war drama, “The Hurt Locker” is one of our favorite films of 2009 so far and a film we called “one of the most exciting movies you’ll see this year.” With 10 Best Picture nominations on the way, its very conceivable that this small, indie from Summit Entertainment starring Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie and Brian Geraghty, and featuring appearances by David Morse, Evangeline Lilly, Guy Pearce, and Ralph Fiennes, could find itself a nomination. It’s currently only in limited release, but it’s expanding and in a bid surely to get more awareness out there, Summit has released the first 8 minutes of the film online. You should definitely see this film. It’s intense, gripping and well-executed from top to bottom. The trio of Renner, Mackie and Geraghty, are a little less unknown, but they certainly can carry the film without the many cameos. Would be nice to see them get some acting recognition and Renner did at the Independent Spirit awards last year with a nomination for Best actor.
