Rumor: Han Solo Spinoff Title Leaked

We’re still reeling a bit from Michael K. Williams being snipped out of the upcoming Han Solo spinoff movie, but the good news is that perhaps we’ll no longer have to call it “the upcoming Han Solo spinoff movie.”

Even though the picture is than a year away from release, Lucasfilm has yet give the presumed blockbuster an official moniker. And while weren’t expecting anything too colorful like “Han Solo & Chewie — Space Buds Forever,” if this marketing material (via JoBlo) is anything to go by, the final name will quite anti-climatic when it’s formally announced:

That’s right, according to this toy line catalog, the movie will be called “Han Solo: A Star Wars Story,” which makes total sense. However, who knows if that name itself is a placeholder for something saucier.

Meanwhile, Williams apparently outed Emilia Clarke’s character name to Vanity Fair, saying his cut alien role had “a link between Han Solo and Emilia’s character, Kira.” That’s on a level of nerd so high that I’m not going to speculate, but feel free to do that in the comments section.

“Han Solo: A Star Wars Story” (that feels so good to type) opens on May 25, 2018.
