Henry Cavill Weighs In On 'Justice League' Mustache-Gate

Sometimes, you really can’t make this stuff up. Earlier this week, the details emerged about the extensive and expensive reshoots that are underway on “Justice League.” Joss Whedon has been very busy over the last two months shooting new material for the movie, which has resulted in some tricky scheduling for the cast, most notably Henry Cavill. Having grown a mustache for his role in “Mission: Impossible 6,” it was reported that since he couldn’t shave it, Warner Bros. was going to have to digitally remove it in post. This kicked off some meme-worthy responses online, but now the people directly involved in the matter have spoken up. Sort of.

‘M:I 6’ director Christopher McQuarrie hit Twitter with a funny (?) tweet that seems to address why Cavill is unable to remove his mustache:

Then Cavill, himself, cheekily weighed in on Instagram, even though I thought he was supposed to be pretending that Superman isn’t in “Justice League”:

At any rate, it seems McQuarrie and Cavill are having fun with this, while WB probably wishes the headache would go away. “Justice League” opens on November 17th.
