Henry Cavill Says Don't Sweat About Clark Kent's Return

Superman is back, having been resurrected by motherbox power, and helping to slay the villainous Steppenwolf. So what’s next for the man who wears hope on his chest? Well, according to “Justice League,” he’ll go back to farm life, and presumably commute to work every day to The Daily Planet along with Lois Lane. But wait a minute….as far as his colleagues know, Clark just vanished one day (around the same time as Superman, but hey, no coincidence there, right?). And now he’s back — what gives?

It’s a valid question, and one posed by a fan to Henry Cavill at the ACE Comic Con in Long Island, New York. However, the actor wasn’t going to be drawn into a nerd debate about how Clark Kent can possibly return to his day job, and says that it’s the least of things that fans should be dorking out about.

“It’s a tricky one. The wonderful thing about movies is that it’s a suspension of disbelief. We’re talking about a guy who can fly, who can shoot lasers out of his eyes. And so there are ways of doing it but telling these stories, it’s about your enjoyment. It’s about my enjoyment. It’s about enjoyment for the viewer,” he said. “And so we can spend four hours of a movie explaining why and how Clark comes back. But is that what you want to see?”

“If I had billions and billions and billions of dollars and I could make six movies a year all based on Superman, yeah, we would go through that…,” Cavill said.

I mean, fair point, but in the now grim, realist world of these DC Films projects, Clark will have to tell his boss something….or just show up at the paper with a hot new scoop. Either way, we’re sure that the writers of “Man Of Steel 2” or “Justice League 2” (whichever comes first, if they’re made at all) will come up with something. [Comicbook]
