“I’d Love To Play This Woman Again, Definitely”: Charlize Theron Is Ready For More Furiosa

Mad Max: Fury RoadSince the release of "Mad Max: Fury Road" last summer, the underlying subtext has been that Charlize Theron had no interest in coming back, given the rocky time she had shooting with Tom Hardy (something she recently elaborated on). However, time heals all wounds, and the actress has made it clear she’s ready for more Furiosa if George Miller will have her.

“I would love to bring her back to life! Are you kidding?” she told MTV at the MTV Awards. “I can see how people are kind of responding to her. I look at my little girl and I’m like, ’yeah, I’d love to play this woman again, definitely.’ ”

Of course, whether or not that will happen remains to be seen. Last fall, Miller said he had two sequel scripts for ‘Fury Road’ finished, but indicated that the story didn’t involve Furiosa. But then, earlier this year, he said he might have more Furiosa stories after all, and it’s worth remembering that way back in the day, he had conceived "Mad Max: Furiosa" as an anime companion to "Mad Max: Fury Road."

As for Theron’s current situation with the franchise, last summer she said she wasn’t signed up for any more movies. However, a recent interview with GQ indicates she has a three-film deal, just like Tom Hardy.

All of this adds up to a big "maybe." Right now, Miller is focused on making a smaller scale movie next, so another ‘Mad Max’ is a long way off anyway. But if Theron is also game to return, you can bet WB will be banging on Miller’s door to get the gang back together. Watch Theron’s interview below.
